Blessed Children - Inspirational Photography & Fine Art Landscapes by Josiah Christian Friberg

Children are a true blessing of the Lord and a reward. I am so thankful to God and my wife for my precious . Here are my two youngest out for a walk in the fresh air up on the in North Carolina. I ran ahead of them, set up my tripod, and then waited for them to come around the corner. I wanted to get an action shot because I'm getting tired of posed photos. Well, here are three of my biggest blessings, with one missing. I hope this image and inspires you to count your many blessings and to name them one by one.

Each verse ends with the chorus, "Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee, how great Thou art, how great Thou art!" These are the words that rise in my soul when I survey the awesome beauty of God's creation and all of the flaming colors of the landscape.

When I first saw the above scene, the brilliantly colored trees seemed to be so alive and flaming in all their beauty. I hope that this and image sparks a sense of wonder and awe in your heart at the glorious beauty of God's unfolding autumn artwork. Consider the Lilies - by Josiah Friberg, Blue Ridge Photographic Society

We just had our next photo contest, and this is the losing photo that I submitted. Out of five contestants, this photo by came in 4th place :( The competition this time was very stiff and hard to beat. Alisha H. won the contest with her amazing and creative rose photo that had her 3 daughters-flowers embedded into the rose petals. Castine F. came in 2nd place with her gorgeous flower photo, followed up closely by Pam C.'s incredible and perfect photo. These winning photos will be posted soon for you to see and compare. I'm a tiny bit sad that mine got such a low score, along with John's, but Alisha's photo had all of the right elements working together to make her the clear winner this time. Congratulations Alisha! Castine and Pam both had perfect photographs which I thought were great as well.

July Winning Photo: Bridge to Light, by Josiah Friberg, Blue Ridge Photographic Society

WINNING PHOTO FOR JULY 2007: Every month our has a photography contest around a different theme. This July the theme was "Bridges." When all the votes were in, there was actually a TIE between and Alisha Hauser, for the best bridge photo. For some reason some members thought we needed a tie break, so they voted again and chose this photo, "Bridge to Light," as the tie-breaking winning photograph of the month. By the way, this was photographed in Moravian Falls, just off of Highway 16 South, near the brick Baptist Church. I was fortunate to arrive early one foggy morning with my tripod, and I proceeded to shoot the bridge from every angle. I loved the way the morning light was trying to pierce through the fog in the trees. Glory to God for creating such a beautiful scene for me to capture!
