Pansies are one of my favorite flowers! And yellow is one of my favorite colors!
Here is a bouquet of pansies set against a black backdrop. (say that three times fast!) :) member, Pam Clark.

Two Morning Glories - by Pam Clark, Blue Ridge Photographic Society

These beautiful flowers bloom for me every morning on my front porch. I thought I'd share their beauty. I entered this in our monthly contest but it did not win. It came in third.

These contests really challenge us to do our best work. Please feel free to leave your comments on what you like!

Sunshine & Rain by Castine Friberg - 2nd Place Winner Blue Ridge Photographic Society Contest

This flower photo WON SECOND PLACE in the monthly photo contest. It got high scores for the composition, colors, patterns, details, and water droplets. Castine is a fairly new photographer, so this was quite an accomplishment to beat out much more experienced BRPS photographers. Congratulations! Comments appreciated...

Consider the Lilies - by Josiah Friberg, Blue Ridge Photographic Society

We just had our next photo contest, and this is the losing photo that I submitted. Out of five contestants, this photo by came in 4th place :( The competition this time was very stiff and hard to beat. Alisha H. won the contest with her amazing and creative rose photo that had her 3 daughters-flowers embedded into the rose petals. Castine F. came in 2nd place with her gorgeous flower photo, followed up closely by Pam C.'s incredible and perfect photo. These winning photos will be posted soon for you to see and compare. I'm a tiny bit sad that mine got such a low score, along with John's, but Alisha's photo had all of the right elements working together to make her the clear winner this time. Congratulations Alisha! Castine and Pam both had perfect photographs which I thought were great as well.
