Peeking Out - Inspirational Photography & Fine Art Landscapes by Josiah Friberg

I took this image at the base of Stone Mountain in Wilkes County, North Carolina. There is a historic there made of wood, mud, and stones. This isn't quite a , but it does capture the high quality natural materials that were used to build this homestead. The child peeking out of the window communicates to me a curiosity towards the outside world and the beauty that lies beyond that window; i.e. and the state park that now encompasses it. It's truly a beautiful place to go hiking, fishing, bird watching, and camping.

Blessed Children - Inspirational Photography & Fine Art Landscapes by Josiah Christian Friberg

Children are a true blessing of the Lord and a reward. I am so thankful to God and my wife for my precious . Here are my two youngest out for a walk in the fresh air up on the in North Carolina. I ran ahead of them, set up my tripod, and then waited for them to come around the corner. I wanted to get an action shot because I'm getting tired of posed photos. Well, here are three of my biggest blessings, with one missing. I hope this image and inspires you to count your many blessings and to name them one by one.

Autumn Glories - by Pam Clark

Autumn is just a glorious time of year - and seeing it reflected in the water under this bridge is just beautiful to me.

Autumn Cross - by Pam Clark

As I was walking through the woods behind my house, the "design" of this fallen tree in the shape of a cross just grabbed my attention. It was like a special message, hidden in the woods just for me. But now I joyfully share it with the world: Jesus loves you! so much that He died on a cross for you, paying the price for your sin that you may enter Heaven for eternal life, if you can only believe it. I do and it's changed my life!

This photo tied for second place in our November Photo Contest where the theme was "Autumn."

Early Autumn - by Pam Clark

The trees were just beginning to turn and the sun was shining at just the right angle to make the top leaves glow. This picture came in second in our November Photo Contest and tied with another picture I entered.

Trumpet Lily Vignette - by Pam Clark

A beautiful trumpet lily from the yard of my sweet neighbor - it just takes your breath away. They are about a foot wide in diameter and maybe a bit longer. It's impossible to capture the glory of the whole thing in one picture. They only bloom and last two to three days of the year here, but are certainly worth the wait and the pictures!

Consider the Lilies - by Josiah Friberg, Blue Ridge Photographic Society

We just had our next photo contest, and this is the losing photo that I submitted. Out of five contestants, this photo by came in 4th place :( The competition this time was very stiff and hard to beat. Alisha H. won the contest with her amazing and creative rose photo that had her 3 daughters-flowers embedded into the rose petals. Castine F. came in 2nd place with her gorgeous flower photo, followed up closely by Pam C.'s incredible and perfect photo. These winning photos will be posted soon for you to see and compare. I'm a tiny bit sad that mine got such a low score, along with John's, but Alisha's photo had all of the right elements working together to make her the clear winner this time. Congratulations Alisha! Castine and Pam both had perfect photographs which I thought were great as well.

Dew on Rose Petals

I captured this image in my garden shortly after planting a new rose bush. The mature roses turned out to be lavender but this young bloom is obviously pastel pink. I was gratified to see the morning dew drops still on the petals.

This is also my submission for the August BPS photo contest.

July Winning Photo: Bridge to Light, by Josiah Friberg, Blue Ridge Photographic Society

WINNING PHOTO FOR JULY 2007: Every month our has a photography contest around a different theme. This July the theme was "Bridges." When all the votes were in, there was actually a TIE between and Alisha Hauser, for the best bridge photo. For some reason some members thought we needed a tie break, so they voted again and chose this photo, "Bridge to Light," as the tie-breaking winning photograph of the month. By the way, this was photographed in Moravian Falls, just off of Highway 16 South, near the brick Baptist Church. I was fortunate to arrive early one foggy morning with my tripod, and I proceeded to shoot the bridge from every angle. I loved the way the morning light was trying to pierce through the fog in the trees. Glory to God for creating such a beautiful scene for me to capture!
