Unfolding Simplicity - Fine Art Nature & Landscape Photography & Inspirational Prophetic Images by Josiah Christian Friberg
I took this photograph on a college campus. Most people just walked by without even noticing this unfolding simplicity of a plant.

Classy Couple - Inspirational Photography & Fine Art Landscapes by Josiah Friberg
I took this inspirational photography and fine art landscape last summer in Rockport Harbor, Massachusetts. This is one of my favorite quaint New England harbors where you can find all kinds of boats and gift shops. Rockport is actually a haven for artists, so you can find wonderful paintings and photographs for sale. This photograph focuses on two classy traditional lobster boats moored in the midst of other more modern boats. It is a crowded harbor, so it's hard to photograph one or two boats all by themselves. I hope this photograph inspires you to get to the ocean and go out on a boat for some fresh ocean air.

Peeking Out - Inspirational Photography & Fine Art Landscapes by Josiah Friberg
I took this inspirational photography image at the base of Stone Mountain in Wilkes County, North Carolina. There is a historic homestead there made of wood, mud, and stones. This isn't quite a fine art landscape, but it does capture the high quality natural materials that were used to build this homestead. The child peeking out of the window communicates to me a curiosity towards the outside world and the beauty that lies beyond that window; i.e. Stone Mountain and the state park that now encompasses it. It's truly a beautiful place to go hiking, fishing, bird watching, and camping.

Mountain Solitude - Inspirational Photography & Fine Art Landscapes by Josiah Friberg
I've always loved fog in the mountains and by the seashore. When I saw how foggy it was a few mornings ago on my way to work in Boone, I decided to drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway to see what I could find. I came upon this scene and just knew I had to capture it and share it with the world, so here it is for you to enjoy and be inspired by.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY ON THIS SPECIAL HOLIDAY!
"Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good. His lovingkindness endures forever."
I hope this inspirational photography image and fine art landscape inspires you to give thanks to God for all of the blessings He has given to you. This is a special time to "count your many blessings, and name them one by one," as the old hymn says.
This fine art landscape of the autumn leaves and an old fence was taken at the base of Stone Mountain in Stone Mountain State Park, North Carolina.

Blessed Children - Inspirational Photography & Fine Art Landscapes by Josiah Christian Friberg
Children are a true blessing of the Lord and a reward. I am so thankful to God and my wife for my precious children. Here are my two youngest out for a walk in the fresh autumn air up on the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina. I ran ahead of them, set up my tripod, and then waited for them to come around the corner. I wanted to get an action shot because I'm getting tired of posed photos. I was happy with the result as they came walking around the corner hand-in-hand with their beautiful mother. You may have heard the hymn, "Count your many blessings, name them one by one." Well, here are three of my biggest blessings, with one missing. I hope this inspirational photography image and fine art landscape inspires you to count your many blessings and to name them one by one.

Flaming Autumn Forest - Inspirational Photography & Fine Art Landscapes by Josiah Friberg
While driving around the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina in the fall, there's one song that continually comes to my mind. Actually, it's an ancient hymn that most of us are familiar with. It's called, "How Great Thou Art." Each verse ends with the chorus, "Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee, how great Thou art, how great Thou art!" These are the words that rise in my soul when I survey the awesome beauty of God's creation and all of the flaming colors of the autumn landscape.
When I first saw the above scene, the brilliantly colored trees seemed to be so alive and flaming in all their beauty. I hope that this fine art landscape and inspirational photography image sparks a sense of wonder and awe in your heart at the glorious beauty of God's unfolding autumn artwork. This photograph was taken at the base of Grandfather Mountain, on the Blue Ridge Parkway, about 5 miles southwest of Blowing Rock, North Carolina.

Autumn Frost - Fine Art Landscapes & Inspirational Photography by Josiah Friberg
I just love the autumn more than any other season. There's something very precious about all of the leaves changing such brilliant colors, the cold windy days, and the early morning frost that covers the grass and plants. I took this inspirational photography image of a frost covered plant up in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. My goal is to help others see the awesome beauty and splendor in God's creation through my fine art landscapes. I hope viewing this photograph inspires a new sense of wonder in your heart towards your Creator and towards His awesome creation. God bless you!

This is a different view of Grandfather Mountain on the Blue Ridge Parkway that shows the famous high suspension bridge at the very top. I took this photograph from about 5 miles southwest of Blowing Rock, North Carolina. I hope that this fine art landscape and inspirational photography image sparks a sense of awe and wonder at the absolute beauty of God's creation in it's full autumn colors. May God bless you through this photograph.

Autumn Glories - by Pam Clark
Autumn Cross - by Pam Clark
As I was walking through the woods behind my house, the "design" of this fallen tree in the shape of a cross just grabbed my attention. It was like a special message, hidden in the woods just for me. But now I joyfully share it with the world: Jesus loves you! so much that He died on a cross for you, paying the price for your sin that you may enter Heaven for eternal life, if you can only believe it. I do and it's changed my life! This photo tied for second place in our November Photo Contest where the theme was "Autumn."
Early Autumn - by Pam Clark
The trees were just beginning to turn and the sun was shining at just the right angle to make the top leaves glow. This picture came in second in our November Photo Contest and tied with another picture I entered.
Trumpet Lily Vignette - by Pam Clark
A beautiful trumpet lily from the yard of my sweet neighbor - it just takes your breath away. They are about a foot wide in diameter and maybe a bit longer. It's impossible to capture the glory of the whole thing in one picture. They only bloom and last two to three days of the year here, but are certainly worth the wait and the pictures!

Autumn Parkway - Inspirational Photography & Fine Art Landscapes by Josiah Friberg
This inspirational photography image was taken on the Blue Ridge Parkway about two miles southwest of Deep Gap, North Carolina. This fine art landscape speaks to me about the beauty of God's creation and how He uses fog to paint an impressionistic masterpiece. I love being in fog up in the mountains when you can't tell if you're in the clouds or just in fog. I hope this autumn photograph inspires you to go for a long walk in the fog and to enjoy the fresh outdoor fall air and brilliant colors.

Beauty of Love - Inspirational Photography and Fine Art Portrait by Josiah Friberg of Moravian Falls
I took this inspirational photography image of my wife when she was pregnant with my son, Judah. I like the way that most of her face is in the shadows and turned away from the diffused light coming in the window. This fine art photograph speaks to me of the beauty of a pregnant woman and the beauty of the love that holds the husband and wife together and brings forth a God-designed family.

Artistic Child Creativity - Inspirational Photography and Christian Fine Art Landscapes by Josiah Friberg
This inspirational photography image by Blue Ridge Photographic Society photographer Josiah Friberg of Moravian Falls speaks of the creativity and imagination of children when they mix art and play. Though this is not really a Christian fine art landscape, it is an inspiring portrait of a child at play with art.

Princess - Blue Ridge Photographic Society
The young lady in this image was the flower girl at a wedding I photographed. The photo was taken in natural light from the window. Her face, I feel, portrays the innocence of youth enhanced by the perfect complexion of a child. Blue Ridge Photographic Society.
Bodey - Blue Ridge Photographic Society
This is the famous Bodey Island light and light-keeper's house on the Outer Banks of coastal North Carolina. A true "lighthouse" integrates the light with the house forming a single unit. This image was originally captured on 35mm film and later converted to digital file adding digital enhancement with Adobe Photoshop CS2. Blue Ridge Photographic Society.

U.S.S. Constitution - Christian Landscape Inspirational Photography by Josiah Friberg
I thought this inspirational photography image of the U.S.S. Constitution, "Old Ironsides," would be appropriate for this 6th anniversary of the cowardly terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001. I was fortunate to be cruising Boston Harbor on the day that this famous historical sailing ship was out stretching her legs. By Blue Ridge Photographic Society photographer, Josiah Friberg.

Hummingbird's Feast - by Josiah Friberg, Blue Ridge Photographic Society
This version of the hibiscus flower was the one that I did not submit to the photo contest of the Blue Ridge Photographic Society. I liked it, but I thought the other one was more creative. Nonetheless, I still like this photograph and I wanted to share it here with you. The center reminds me of what a hummingbird's feast would look like. I also love the radiant life lines coming out from the center, as well as the water droplets. Copyrighted image by Josiah Friberg

Sunshine & Rain by Castine Friberg - 2nd Place Winner Blue Ridge Photographic Society Contest
This flower photo WON SECOND PLACE in the Blue Ridge Photographic Society monthly photo contest. It got high scores for the composition, colors, patterns, details, and water droplets. Castine is a fairly new photographer, so this was quite an accomplishment to beat out much more experienced BRPS photographers. Congratulations! Comments appreciated...

Consider the Lilies - by Josiah Friberg, Blue Ridge Photographic Society
We just had our next Blue Ridge Photographic Society photo contest, and this is the losing photo that I submitted. Out of five contestants, this photo by Josiah Friberg came in 4th place :( The competition this time was very stiff and hard to beat. Alisha H. won the contest with her amazing and creative rose photo that had her 3 daughters-flowers embedded into the rose petals. Castine F. came in 2nd place with her gorgeous flower photo, followed up closely by Pam C.'s incredible and perfect photo. These winning photos will be posted soon for you to see and compare. I'm a tiny bit sad that mine got such a low score, along with John's, but Alisha's photo had all of the right elements working together to make her the clear winner this time. Congratulations Alisha! Castine and Pam both had perfect photographs which I thought were great as well.

July Winning Photo: Bridge to Light, by Josiah Friberg, Blue Ridge Photographic Society
WINNING PHOTO FOR JULY 2007: Every month our Blue Ridge Photographic Society has a photography contest around a different theme. This July the theme was "Bridges." When all the votes were in, there was actually a TIE between Josiah Friberg and Alisha Hauser, for the best bridge photo. For some reason some members thought we needed a tie break, so they voted again and chose this photo, "Bridge to Light," as the tie-breaking winning photograph of the month. By the way, this was photographed in Moravian Falls, just off of Highway 16 South, near the brick Baptist Church. I was fortunate to arrive early one foggy morning with my tripod, and I proceeded to shoot the bridge from every angle. I loved the way the morning light was trying to pierce through the fog in the trees. Glory to God for creating such a beautiful scene for me to capture!
